Price observation

One recorded price: a sale or an offer, with its date, source, currency and tax basis.

Also: Observation, Price record

Where this comes up

BrickDb stores prices as dated observations and serves them from its own records. Each one says where it came from, when it was seen or sold, in which currency, and whether it includes tax. That is why a price on BrickDb is a dated reading and not a live quote.
